This guide will explain how is done the control plane network configuration for the FIBRE's servers. For further information about how the network was designed, check the Architecture section.
For the FIBRENet's Control Plane was choosen the following network for the FIBRE's Islands:
|X||Stands for the Institution ID.|
|Y||It's usually the defaul value is '0' for the third octect, but resources for experimentation like: Virtual Machines, Icarus Nodes and the OMF Portal will set another value.|
|Z||Stands for the host ID.|
As for netmask, it's obligatory to use 16 bits.
So as to segregate each Island's network, the Institutions receive an ID that correspond as the second octect used in the FIBREnet's control plane.
Due to federation reasons, the ID of the brazilian institutions begin at 128.

VM DNS and Monitoring System
The configuration of the ToR Switch is the first step for the network configuration of a FIBRE Island. It's necessary to configure a VLAN, though it's not required to use a default value.
If there is a need for a recommendation of a value for the control plane's VLAN, the value that RNP uses is: 60
For configuring ToR and the network address, do the following steps:
configure interface vlan 60 ip address 10.X.0.1/16
X stands for the Institution network ID.
The value 60 was used for demonstration purpose.
After configuring the IP, it's needed to configure which ports are going to use. As a example, below is shown the configuration of RNP:

Also for each port chosen for the VLAN, it's necessary the configure the ports. Another example from RNP is shown below:
